Aging, also referred to as senescence in scientific journals, is simply the process of growing older. It is a natural process of all living organisms. However, we are not completely at its mercy. There are many lifestyle behaviors that can slow down this process and improve how well we age. Exercise, quality nutrition, less exposure to toxins and maintaining a strong immune system will all help to keep the body young and reduce the risk of disease.
We are a Private Ultra-Wellness Studio™ dedicated to improving this stage of your life through a clinically-based fitness program.
It is a facility that is geared towards a total wellness program, ensuring our clients a safe and comfortable experience with elite customer service and measurable results that will improve total body performance and brain function. Total wellness is not just about exercise for the body, it requires exercise for the brain as well. We at DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ have created a place where the body and brain are the focus of our training program and building a community of motivated individuals to improve the image of aging is our goal. We are a members only studio, a supportive community driven to improve the lives of all involved. The typical gym has 4,000 - 5,000 members. DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ exclusive membership is limited to only 200 like-minded individuals.
A unique fitness program designed by medical professionals and backed by scientific research with the focus on individual goals and results. Fitness assessments are a key part of the DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ program. Fitness assessments will be performed before starting and every 120 days there after, so each member will be able to see his/her progress on paper. Upon member authorization we will share the assessment results with the member's physician and other medical professionals. With this patient-centered approach we will continue to tailor each member's program towards their desired goals.
Our physician designed workouts ensure safety for all members regardless of fitness levels, allowing those who haven't worked out in years, even decades, to keep up during the session. Our physician team has ensured that every workout can be modified for those members who have osteoporosis, diabetes, experience low back pain, or limited range of motion. Our Clini-Coaches™ will tailor the session to each member's physical needs. In addition each member will wear a heart rate monitor every session to ensure exercise intensity is maintained on a safe level.
We focus on a community that has been ignored in the world of fitness for far too long. As we age the importance of exercise increases and yet in our current society the amount of physical activity tends to decline as we grow older. This is in part due to the lack of knowledge about our aging bodies and the perception that pain, physical decline and disease is inevitable for all. This is NOT the case and we are here to prove it to you with FUN workouts designed for the needs of the aging body and mind, incorporating state-of-the-art equipment not seen in any typical gym. All we need is the participation of those who wish to defy aging.
DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ will be using Keiser™, a type of equipment that has been the choice of over 100 peer-reviewed research studies due to its pneumatic design that provides virtually impact free resistance. Keiser™ equipment is featured in the Mayo Clinic, the majority of professional sports team and over 2,500 assisted living facilities.
Benefits include fingertip weight-changing (no need to pick up weights or bending over to change a knob), consistent resistance throughout full range of motion, and significant measurable results. Keiser™ also shares our philosophy on aging and is dedicated to helping change this perception of inevitable decline. Keiser™ has partnered with the Council on Aging and Adult Development, supporting research on aging and exercise.
We will also be utilizing SMARTfit™ , a neuromuscular cognitive training system. SMARTfit™ incorporates body and brain training in one game-based workout. Similar to Keiser™ , this system also provides enhanced measurable results and brings training to the next level by developing advanced neurological functioning. SMARTfit™ focuses on the scientific discovery of neuroplasticity and neurogensis, the brain's ability to change, adapt and even rewire itself. Exercise mixed with cognitive focus in a game based workout improves the performance of total body function, which is what SMARTfit™ provides.
Simply put, combining Keiser™, SMARTfit™, heart rate zone training and other functional fitness modalities with scientific, evidence-based training protocols, DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ provides unparalleled results. These include measurable gains in strength, balance, speed of movement, flexibility, overall coordination, along with decreased aches and pains. We will help you feel better, move better and have more energy!
You have the option for personal training or group sessions. We keep the sessions very small, with a maximum of eight people, to ensure that the coaches can cater to individual needs. We use a sophisticated heart rate monitoring system, that will allow to our Clini-Coaches™ to monitor individuals exercise intensity during the workout. Before each workout our Clini-Coaches™ will review each member's client file, which will include personal needs and ongoing fitness assessment results. In addition, members are encouraged to share any questions or concerns at any time with their Clini-Coach™.
All sessions, which we refer to as "Today's Fun," are 30 minutes. There are five different formats that our workouts follow. Within each format there are many exercise variations in order to provide variety and most effectively train the critical components of functional fitness. We at DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ believe that if it is not fun, you won't continue. Since exercise is such a key element to successful aging we want to ensure that you enjoy it. Each session will have a game element that will not only be FUN, but will get you sweating and your brain firing.
YES! The SMARTfit™ technology allows for fitness and fun to be one. Add in some high energy coaches and a group of motivated individuals who want to feel decades younger and you will have to try hard to not have fun! The workouts will bring you back to those playground days where you got to play catch, run around, and experience the thrill of beating your top score. Team spirit and friendly competition is not just for athletes, it's for anyone who wants to defy aging!
YES! Our workouts are for all fitness levels. We start your program with a full fitness assessment to get baseline measurement of your strength, mobility, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, posture, biometrics and reaction time. This will ensure we know where you are starting from and we will modify all workouts to fit your specific needs each session.
You may have heard the phrase "No Pain, No Gain," but that does NOT apply here at DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ . In fact, we entitle our workouts "TODAY'S FUN!". We believe that a future with less pain, more fun and better results is the new theme of fitness. We will help you start at your own pace and only push yourself to the levels you are ready for, and our Clini-Coaches™ are there to support you during your workout and keep you in a safe heart rate zone. As with starting any new fitness program, you may temporarily experience some mild muscle soreness, but our Clini-Coaches™ will be there to share ways to modify exercises to keep you safe.
YES. All of the workouts have been developed with a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, whose career has spanned working with these types of patients and who created modifications for every move that will allow individuals with these diagnoses to participated in our workouts. Our Clini-Coaches™ will review each members client file prior to every session, which will ensure a safe workout for all.
YES! Our program will develop sport specific muscle groups that will enhance overall performance and decrease injury risk. We even have golf-specific programming designed by our two Certified Golf Fitness Specialists (by National Academy of Sports Medicine), that will improve swing mechanics and drive distance, increase club-head speed, decrease golf trajectory errors, all ensuring a reduction in total golf score.
We feature specialized equipment used by many professional sports teams. This includes Keiser™ for strength training, used by over 50% of all professional major league teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, and every single Major League Baseball Team. We also utilize the SMARTfit™ ProTrainer system, used by many professional athletes including Billie Jean King (winner of 20 Wimbledon titles) who said "SMARTfit absolutely correlates perfectly with what you are trying to do in match play and that is very important for high performance training." Train with us and win!
We are a highly qualified team of medical professionals, specializing in physical medicine, bone health, and pain management, former professional athlete and elite level coach, plus certified fitness professionals who have specifically studied exercise physiology as it relates to aging. Combined with specialized equipment that has been used in extensive scientific research, our program is truly at the leading edge of fitness for successful aging. In fact, this is the first and only program of its type!
DEFY AGING SOLUTIONS™ will be participating in clinical research studies to continue to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the workouts and ensure application of the latest scientific research.
